Exposure and Response Prevention

Sunlit Orange Flowers

Anxiety can create a cycle that feels impossible to break. Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is one of the most effective treatments for anxiety and OCD. It is considered the gold-standard because it helps you rewire the anxiety cycle at its core. ERP therapy is a specialized form of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help individuals overcome anxiety by gradually exposing clients to their fears in a controlled environment. ERP encourages a refrain from engaging in compulsive behaviors. This process helps to overcome anxiety over time, allowing individuals to build resilience and develop healthier coping strategies. is an evidence-based approach that has proven effective in reducing and improving overall quality of life.

ERP helps you face feared situations or thoughts gradually with support. Instead of using avoidance or safety behaviors to relieve anxiety, you learn how to stay with the feeling long enough for your nervous system to realize that you are safe. Over time, your brain stop sending the danger signal and what once felt overwhelming becomes manageable. This is a collaborative, step by step process where you get support throughout. Together we create a hierarchy of situations or thoughts that trigger anxiety and work through them safely and gradually and helps you feel empowered. Therapy is offered for 55 minute sessions, 90 minute sessions and focused intensives. All levels of care start with an initial assessment.
