Brainspotting

Sad Portrait_edited_edited.jpg

One of the most hopeful truths I can share with you is your brain has an incredible ability to heal. Traumatic stress can make you feel like something is permanently broken inside, like you'll never be the same again. The truth is, your brain and whole nervous system was built for healing in mind. It's wired to adapt, to recover, and find its way back to balance even after deep pain.

Brainspotting is a gentle, neuroscience informed therapy discovered by David Grand, Ph.D while working with an athlete. It has become a highly effective way to process and release what the body and mind hold on to. While it's widely known for its ability to heal trauma, Brainspotting also supports growth, performance and overall resilience. Our nervous system holds a whole range of our experiences, not just the painful and overwhelming moments, but also those of connection, calm and joy.The best way to understand Brainspotting is "where we look affects how we feel."  By focusing on a specific eye position linked to stored emotions or memories, Brainspotting supports the brain's natural ability to heal from trauma, anxiety, and performance blocks. It's especially effective for calming the nervous system and unlocking deeper healing and physical relief without the need to talk through every detail. The attunement of the therapist along with focused mindfulness, allow for deep non-verbal processing and promotes the brains innate self-healing capacities.
